In August several popular and well known historical gaming companies in the UK are announced they will either halt US shipments all together, or will be adding tariff specific fees. See the end of this post for snapshots of those announcements from August.
We considered posting an update ourselves at that time but while the context of the rest of the market is important, those events and decisions did not directly impact us. This is our third post on the state of trade and how it is currently impacting our business, please review our original announcement and our May 2025 update for broader context.
Printed Products: Books and Cards
We are proceeding with development of our next ESR Campaign Guide, as of the last update from our current printer in early June their pricing has not been impacted. We hope to go to press in late fall/early winter, it is unknown whether ink and paper prices will be increasing or stable at that time.
We are restocking on Command and Stat Cards currently and have our fingers crossed that the price increases we saw and absorbed in spring have not increased further.
Miniatures: Minor Disruptions, Future Mitigation
Some of you may have already heard apologies from us regarding delayed delivers of larger orders. As luck would have it some of our more popular sculpts required new molds (which is perfectly normal) and as the mold material is sourced from Europe, there were delays in obtaining the raw material due to the instability of international trade. We can’t say if this sort of thing will persist or not, but at this point everything is resupplied and all existing releases are back in production.
Our next major release is tentatively scheduled for Spring 2026 and we have been preemptively putting those sculpts into production since spring of this year in small batches in order to hopefully provide for a stable launch. That said, a significant consideration that our product line requires is that our “everything you need” ESR packs necessarily require lots of different parts be included so until all pieces of a pack are in production we can’t say whether or not there will be schedule impact due to raw material shortages in the future.
We should also note that while we are able to forward load the molds, we are not able to build up substantial stock of all of the required parts so far ahead of the intended release simply because of the capital that would tie up. Therefore, while we are working to ensure as best as possible that a mold material shortage would not impact our Spring 2026 releases, there is no way to know if shortage of a different material, like say the plastic the miniatures are produced from, will be impacted.
NOCH Products: Imports Currently Halted
We were informed by NOCH this morning that DHL/Deutsche Post has halted all US bound shipments from Germany and that any packages shipped via them are automatically returned. They also informed us that we could have orders shipped via UPS or FedEx but should expect the cost to be significantly more expensive.
How much more expensive? We had our spring restock order quoted via UPS and FedEx, the quotes ranged from 50% to 200% more expensive in addition to the import tariffs on the product. Thus, at this time we are unable to import additional stock from NOCH. What we have on-hand is what we have for the foreseeable future.
Announcements from Our Peers Across the Pond
As the trade situation is clearly in-flux and we’re a game company not a news site, it is best to contact those manufacturers directly if you need to know the current state of things. We include these here for the sake of broader context.
