Long time war gamer, but new to Napoleonic's. I have the second edition core rules, but wondering where are the British? Any recommendations for a which starter box to get first?

Thanks!

As to our ESR Box Sets, unfortunately at the moment the British are with the Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Saxons, etc… in that they aren't released yet – but we do plan to remedy that!

Well, if you can't decide… then definitely one of each! :-p Honestly, it comes down to whichever French opponent you prefer, each one fights a bit differently. The Russians lean towards the defensive as they are likely to have Stoic [ST] Formations. The Austrians are a nice center of the road Army, little about them is outstanding but nothing about them is really bad. The late war Prussians are a curious mix, they have troops from all parts of the quality spectrum.

I suppose I need to research more on the wars of Napoleon. I am leaning to the Austrians, as I would like to start in the early wars. Right now most of my knowledge of the period comes from things read years ago and Richard Sharpe stories!

All of our ESR Campaign Guides do give a bit of the "plot" of the campaign and each engagement, so that might be a good place to start.

Yes, more looking at the web store is going to be required!

Thanks David!
