Rule 3.7.2 appears to contradict itself.

It states that when a formation breaks, all cavalry "units" are removed. Then in the next sentence, it says that infantry battalions and cavalry "squadrons" must face away from the enemy.

If all cavalry have been removed, why would they face away? A bit confused!!!!

Fair observation. The cavalry squadron groups are removed and would not therefore face away.

Thanks David, just wondering if there is a FAQ that has other clarifications?

To a large degree this community forum forms the FAQ. However, also on topic is that there is an errata included in the front of the 5th Printing (and later). It's changes are integrated into the printing but also summarized in the front. Additionally it is available for download off The Complete Player's Guide product page and we've also got a dedicated thread to keep a consolidated list of ESR related downloads including the errata.

More interested in things that have been picked up in the latest version.  How many issues would you say have needed to be clarified or changed, since the latest version was published?

I can see in the rules what was changed since the first printing, but that isn't much use to me, as I didn't have the first version.

Regards
Fred

This is difficult to say of course, we get questions, but to-date the most common answer is to confirm the player's interpretation is correct. Before launching this community forum we backloaded it with the most unique and common questions which were raised on the ESR Yahoo! Group over the last handful of years, so all that material is gathered here.

We keep an internal list of things we think can be improved, but that is really separate from whether players are reporting problems.

The 5th printing has been the only printing to-date of Second Edition where material changes were made to the text.
