Looking through the Vimeiro scenario in the "To Assure My Dynasty" 1808 Iberia campaign book, I think (unless I am missing something here) that the British map deployment notes are slightly incorrect. Craufurd's Brigade (1) and Trant's Brigage (2) states pointing west and northwest respectively. However this does not add up looking at the depictions on the map. This should either say west and SOUTHWEST respectively if the ployed forces are going down towards the bottom of the page in the book OR it should say EAST and NORTHEAST respectively if going up the road towards the top of the page in the book.Â
Which one is it?

You are correct, this is an error. Crauford's Brigade and Trant's Brigade should be marching away from Maceira and are bound for Mariquiteria, therefore going nominally east/northeast.

On a slightly different note, I wanted to quickly ask you whether increasing the table size from the recommended sizes for each scenario is something that is recommended to do? I will be playing the game at its 10mm scale (so 150 yards) and so could I potentially play the 4' by 3' scenarios on a 6' by 4' as an example?

Well, the ground scale of the maps is rather accurate, so if you are talking about enlarging the area of the table beyond what is shown on the map – that can be very cool for some scenarios.
However, if you are talking about doubling the table size but keeping the provided map as the total area depicted on table, then things will play rather strangely as you'll be doubling the actual distance between places.

Thanks. No of course I meant enlarging the area of the table beyond what is shown on the map so that the formations could potentially have more room to manoeuvre/retreat to if need be. But that was just a question out of curiosity. Sticking to the recommended table sizes for each scale is absolutely fine as well.Â
