In the Elchingen scenario the French have Corps Artillery which is a separate formation under a GB commander. To bring this battery into action it has been given an [M] Order as being artillery an [A] Order would not be appropriate when they cannot come into contact with the enemy.

An attack [A] order for a Formation of all artillery requires the artillery to move to within 450 yards of the enemy. So both orders work, depends how aggressive you wish to be. (If this is not noted in the original text of the attack [A] order, it is noted in the 5th printing and the errata.)
