Maybe. Maybe not. The Combat Resolution is sequential, so if the first resolution beats the single Unit, the others will no longer be in contact and will not roll. If the first Unit is beaten back and the single Unit stands, then the second Unit will roll… etc…

Individually, sequentially, as per above. So the number of resolutions could vary from 1 to 3 or even more if there are ties or breakthroughs.

Yes, so long as it is in contact with multiple Units, i.e. if the single Unit wins against the first two, it would not suffer that penalty against the 3rd because now it is only in contact with one enemy Unit.
