There is constant reference to 'the plateau west of the Wuthende Neisse'. I assume this is an error and what is being described is the big brown area to the EAST of the Wurthende Neisse, i.e in the top half of the map. Am I correct in this?

You are correct. The plateau is east of the Wurthende Neisse.
This was corrected subsequently.
