Planning to do Schewadino in mid June.

Few questions:

1. Think this one has been asked on the Yahoo group. No Knorring's 2nd Cuirassier division in the Russian orbat  - assume you use the formation listed in the Borodino scenario.

2. Davout does not start on table but has a division, Compans, present from the start. How do you order this? Assume Napoleon would issue a corps objective, get his plus as issuing  officer, but nothing for Davout. Then I assume Compans has to order himself around.

That is correct. It was left out of earlier printings by mistake, it was correctly subsequently.

There are two ways to handle this. Either Napoleon commands the elements present whose Force Commander(s) has not yet arrived – perfectly sensible. Or, pay the distance penalties for the Force Commanders who remain off table. We know the game begins at 2PM and Davout is scheduled to arrive at 4PM, thus he is approximately 6 miles off-table.

That make sense?

Thanks David.

Another question.

The Joseph Napoleon Regiment in Broussier's 14th Division (IV Corps) is rated CR 5 (L). The Joseph Napoleon Regiment in Friant's Division (I Corps) is rated CR 5 (L). Should they both be the same? And if yes which rating is correct?

I think you mean the two battalions in the 14th Division are rated CR 4 [L] while the two with Friant are rated CR 5 [L].

Two battalions of the Joseph Napoleon Regiment were with each Broussier and Friant. They are rated as intended. Technically I believe the 1st and 4th battalions were with Broussier while the 2nd and 3rd with with Friant. Arguably one of each should be rated as CR 5 [L] and one of each rated CR4 [L], but that is rather cumbersome so we split the difference.

Thanks David - I got mixed up - in my copy of master of the world both JN regiments are rated CR5 - but only one has the L designation.

All clear now tho. - I suspect the text has changed since first printing.

Thanks
